New Pharmacy First Scheme

Starting Wednesday 31/01/2024, a new national NHS service provided by community pharmacists called PHARMACY FIRST has been launched.

Patients can self-refer (just walk in) to the majority of community pharmacies in the Bromley Borough for advice and treatment of the following 7 common infections. Both over the counter medication and/or prescription only medicines treatment options (including antibiotics) can be offered.

  • ACUTE SINUSITIS – 12 years and over
  • ACUTE BACTERIAL SINUSITIS – 12 years and over
  • SORE THROAT – 5 years and over
  • ACUTE OTITIS MEDIA – 1-17 years
  • INFECTED INSECT BITES – 1 year and over 
  • IMPETIGO – 1 year and over
  • INFECTED IMPETIGO – 1 year and over
  • SHINGLES – 18 years and over
  • UNCOMPLICATED UTI – women 16-64 years
